Would you nurse him in the park?
Would you nurse him in the dark?
Would you nurse him with a Boppy?
And when your boobs are feeling floppy?

I would nurse him in the park,
I would nurse him in the dark.
I’d nurse with or without a Boppy.
Floppy boobs will never stop me!

Can you nurse with your seat belt on?
Can you nurse from dusk till dawn?
Though he may pinch me, bite me, pull,
I will nurse him 'till he’s full.

Can you nurse and make some soup?
Can you nurse and feed the group?
It makes him healthy strong and smart,
Momma’s milk is the right start!

Lauren F. and her little one

Would you nurse him at the game?
Would you nurse him in the rain?
In front of those who dare complain?
I would nurse him at the game.
I would nurse him in the rain.

As for those who protest lactation,
I have the perfect explanation:
Momma’s milk is tailor made
It’s the perfect food, you need no aid.

Some may scoff and some may wriggle,
Avert their eyes or even giggle.
To those who can be cruel and rude,
Remind them breast’s the perfect food!

I would never scoff or giggle,
Roll my eyes or even wiggle!
I would not be so crass or crude,
I KNOW that this milk’s the perfect food!

Erin D. and her little ones

Making just the amount that we need
Perfect temp for every feed.
There’s no compare to milk from breast -
It's real baby food! No contest.

Those sweet nursing smiles are oh so sweet,
Momma’s milk is such a treat.
Human milk just can’t be beat.

Oh, I will nurse, in any case,
On the street or in your face.
I will not let my baby cry,
I’ll meet his needs, I’ll always try.
It’s not about what’s good for you,
It’s for my babies, through and through.

I will nurse him in my home,
I will nurse him when I roam.
Leave me be lads and ma’am.
I will nurse him, MOM I AM.

  2. i absolutely LOVE this!! can anyone tell me the ages of the babes in the pictures? i am having a debate with someone who seems to think they are 5 or 6 years old and i think their assumption is very wrong. its so irritating how so close-minded people are. they follow the mass mainstream opinion and all of a sudden these images are taboo... IRRITATING. i think these pictures are beautiful :)

They are beautiful... the little girl cannot be older than 3! I continue to breastfeed my 2 year old and she has never been sick a day in her life because of it!!

    2. 5 or 6! the cute little boy was maybe 18 months, the little girl by herself was MAYBE 2, and then the last shot was of a newborn and big sister, hard to say because you can't see her. But 2 or 3. And the first shot looked like a one year old. I'm hoping my twins will keep going until they are two, they are 15 months now and don't seem to be ready to stop yet. Fingers crossed!

    1. Did you stop breastfeeding when you were pregnant? or can one breastfeed when pregnant?

    2. You sure can, you do not need to stop! I breastfed through at least part of three pregnancies, until my nursling self weaned or in one case, until the baby was born and then I tandem nursed.

    3. i'm 35 weeks pregnant with #3. Nursing 2 toddlers occasionally. While pregnant with #2 I still nursed my toddler when she wanted during the day. It just so happens that both have been sleeping thru the night and I haven't had to nurse at nightime for a longtime but that will soon change with a newborn...:)

  9. Awwww....this is great. I was smiling the whole way through. And I've clicked on no less than 5 of your other posts from the sidebar, too. Looks like I'll be here a while.

One of my readers sent me here after reading my post at Babycenter today - a good companion!

    Thanks for the rhymes...

  11. Love this! Also..... Why does it matter how old the kids are? Thats a personal choice for mom and child to make and how old they are doesn't make it any more or less beautiful

  12. People are so bad at guessing ages of kids. :) I think the more hair they have they may be assumed to be older cuz my daughter barely has hair and everyone thinks she is younger then she is.
