❦ Halloween Milk! ❦

The Halloween Milk album at peaceful parenting on Facebook is always having photos flagged by lactiphobic onlookers - especially the cute little nursing 'pumpkins.' In 2011, half of all uploaded photos were removed by Facebook from the album. As a result, we're moving the gallery here and are excited to add your fun, furry-and-feathery milky photos to the collection this season.

You are welcome to upload or tag at the peaceful parenting Facebook page if this is easiest for you, or send to DrMomma.org@gmail.com and we will add yours in. We will watermark photos with your first/last name before posting, unless you request otherwise. If your photo or information was lost in last year's deletion, we invite you to email as well so we can update.

If you're carving up pumpkins this year, you may want to make one of your creations birth-and-babies related, snap a photo, and enter the 2012 peaceful parenting pumpkin carving contest taking place now.

It's all just for fun ~ to celebrate the joys of gentle parenting as we plant some seeds and raise awareness throughout this month of pumpkins, costumes (and momma milk!).  If you're a mother seeking info on nursing your baby, we invite you to visit the Breastfeeding Resources Page and write to us anytime.

Peaceful Parenting Pumpkin Carving Contest

Pumpkin chalk drawing by Shannon of Intact Hawaii

It's a Pumpkin Carving Contest!!

With a peaceful parenting twist.

The goal? To incorporate a little bit of baby/child friendly advocacy into this season's pumpkins to raise awareness of the gentle mothering and fathering of our little ones, and have some creative fun along the way.

In the past, we've hosted breastfeeding and genital autonomy pumpkin carving contests. This year, we are mixing it all together and inviting you to submit your pumpkin creation from whatever peaceful parenting position is near and dear to your heart. Anything goes! Pumpkins can be carved or decorated.

We will be posting all photos of pumpkins submitted to us on this page and public voting will take place at DrMomma.org Nov 1-2. Awards will be given to the top 3 pumpkin creations according to this public vote.

Winners may select from an Intact Advocate prize pack, a Breastfeeding Advocate prize pack, a general Peaceful Parenting prize pack, or a combination of all ($20 value). Included will be cards, magnets, pens, sticky notes, bracelets and a tote bag to share a little love in your community in the upcoming months. All entries will receive a set of the Holiday Info Cards (pictured far below).

To submit your pumpkin, email photos to DrMomma.org@gmail.com You are also welcome to post to the peaceful parenting and/or Saving Our Sons Facebook pages, but to maintain contact information with artist, and email must also follow. Pumpkins will be displayed anonymously until voting is complete.

*UPDATE*
The voting poll on DrMomma.org via Google appeared to have technical problems or glitches. The results from the Facebook voting poll were all within 1-2 votes of each other. Therefore, we've decided to award a slightly smaller prize pack ($15 worth instead of $20) to each entrant this year. Please email DrMomma.org@gmail.com with your name, address, and let us know which entry was yours and which pack you'd like (Breastfeeding, Intact, or General/Combo pp).
