  2. Dr. Park (Knoxville) has been my children's Dr. since the birth of my son (9 months), and he has been wonderful. The most he does in regards to the diaper area is open the diaper and close it back immediately. We have never had any issue with my son being intact. The first time he saw my son, he opened the diaper and said, "No circumcision, so no problem there!" and that was it! He's so sweet and so friendly. I would recommend him to anyone. He's also extremely pro-breastfeeding, which I LOVE about him.

  3. When my oldest son went for his first out of hospital appointment (5 days old) in Chattanooga my husband and I asked about care for our intact son's penis. Dr. Thom Voychehovski looked at us and said 'It's natural!, You don't do anything.' As our son has gotten older (he's now 2.5 yrs) he reminds us at well checks not to pull the skin just to wash what is visible. I'm not sure if all of the doctors in his practice are the same I know of at least one that came to the hospital to see my second son after he was born. When he asked about circumcision we told him no. He then said 'ahh good choice' So I'm thinking that the practice might be intact friendly. Oh and he's very pro breastfeeding.

  4. Chattanooga parents beware of taking intact-care advice from the pediatricians at Highland Pediatrics. They are intact friendly insofar as they are comfortable with uncircumcised patients, HOWEVER they don't have a clue as to how to properly care for an intact penis. My son's pediatrician encouraged me to begin FORCIBLY retracting his foreskin when he was four and five (when she saw the look of horror on my face she insisted doing this was "normal, natural, and necessary) and now that he's nearing six and still doesn't retract, she is beginning to push for consultation with a surgical urologist. Feels a lot like the beginning of an overall push to circumcise him now.
