BEST RICE COOKER REVIEW: 2017

In 2017, the rice cooker is not something so rare, but it has become quite a common thing in many households. However, with all the models that are available on the market, it can be difficult to decide on the best rice cooker for your kitchen. Indeed, the most important features are precision cooking and the quality of the cooked rice, but lately people started to value durability and ease-of-use too. But let’s have a look at the most popular rice cookers on the market right now.

Zojirushi Rice Cookers

The Zoirushi rice cooker is one of the most popular and successful models on the market. The characteristic most often associated with this brand is quality, even if we are talking about the basic models or the high-end ones. Usually you can find a Zojirushi product somewhere between $99 and $200. One of the main advantages of this brand is the fact that their rice cookers rely on an automatic computer chip that adjusts the time cooking and the temperature inside. As such, you can make your rice soft, hard, watery or dry, depending on your taste.

Another main advantage is the HI (Induction Heating), which is extremely useful. It runs on a magnetic field that heats up the rice instantly. Thanks to this type of heating, the process of cooking can be controlled entirely. At the same time, perhaps the main drawback of Zojirushi is the fact that they’re not really cheap which might be a problem.

Aroma Housewares Rice Cookers

Among the advantages you can find in the Aroma Housewares Rice Cookers, you can definitely count a large array of appliances. They are suitable for a great deal of customers and fit their needs and tastes. For example, you can purchase the conventional rice cooker, based on a pot within a pot. One of their definite advantages is the fact that it’s really easy to use and to maintain the rice cooker, just with a click of a switch. When the food is done, the system automatically switches to the warming mode.

Regarding the price, Aroma Housewares is famous for offering the best prices on the market. As opposed to other brands out there, they do have a really large array to choose from. Their definite advantage is the fact that you can even buy an appliance from them for less than $20, which is amazing. The only disadvantage many people reported is the fact that it has a slow cooking time. Yes, we are working with slow food, but still, nobody wants to waste hours in a row for some rice.

Now that we had a look at the two most successful brands, it is time to bring some examples and to show you what models in particular are preferred by the people.

Zojirushi NS-TSC10 5-1/2-Cup (Uncooked) Micom Rice Cooker

This model is indeed at the high end of the price spectrum, but it is definitely worth it if you decide to make an investment in it. It is spacious enough and can serve maximum 12 people simultaneously. You can even enjoy the leftovers for the next meal, for example. The fuzzy logic technology offers you lots of liberty while cooking, allowing you to leave for work and let the appliance cook the rice until you get back. You also have 2 delay time settings, which is kind of unique on the market. However, one major disadvantage is the fact that the cooking pot is made of aluminum coated with Teflon, whereas you can find other stainless steel models which are more durable.

Aroma Simply Stainless 3-Cup (Uncooked) 6-Cup (Cooked) Rice Cooker

Aroma Simply is another one of the Aroma products that is favored by many people. It is affordable and attractive, but at the same time sophisticated. It definitely has an edge over the other models, but most of them can only cook white rice. This appliance holds 3 cups of white rice and 2 cups of brown rice. Another thing which people love about the Aroma Simply Stainless Rice Cooker is the material used for the cooking pot. As opposed to regular rice cookers, Aroma Simply uses surgical grade cooking pot made of stainless steel. There still are two disadvantages for this model, namely the fact that the ARC-750SG offers limited control over the process and it’s not that flexible, together with the fact that the cooking pot is not non-stick, so it requires more time and effort when it comes to cleaning.
